PRESBYCUSIS

It is a condition in Which Gradually Hearing loss as By the Increase of Age. This is an Old age Hearing Loss Called Presbycusis.
Clinical Manifestations
- Tinnitus (ringing in ear)
- Difficulty to understand speech
- Vertigo.
- Difficulty in Hearing
Etiology/Risk Factors
Inflammatory conditions
 Heredity
Hypertension 
Excessive intake of fat and Salt in diet 

- Diabetes
- Smoking
- Excessive intake of ototoxic drugs such as aspirin
- Excessive Production of Wax
- Exposure to excessive loud noise
- Alcoholism
- High body mass index.
Diagnostic Evaluation
- History collection
- Physical examination
- Tympanometry
- MRI
- Blood test to diagnose inflammatory disorders
- Otoscopy.
Management
The use of a hearing aid is recommended as treatment for age-associated hearing loss.
Complications
- Loss of self esteem
- Social isolation
- Irritation
- Anger
- Dementia
